If you are running an established small business or social enterprise in Northern Ireland, a new round of funding is currently open through the Go Succeed grant programme.
The grant opportunity is limited to those who have participated on the Foundation, Enabling Growth or Accelerated Scaling pillars of the programme.
The Go Succeed Grant offers match funding of up to 50% of eligible capital costs, with a maximum grant award of £4,000. The current application window opened on 1st September and will close on 13th October 2026.
The minimum grant award is £1000 – total project costs must be at least £2000.
What Can the Grant Be Used For?
The funding is intended to help businesses overcome specific operational barriers to growth and improve productivity. Eligible expenditure includes:
- Specialist Equipment & Machinery: Upgrades or additions that boost efficiency, automate production, or expand capacity.
- Mobile Machinery: Equipment such as forklifts or scissor lifts.
- IT & Digital Infrastructure: Outright purchase of computer hardware and software.
- Web Development: Creation or major upgrade of e-commerce platforms and digital tools.
Note: General running costs, marketing, consultancy, second-hand items, routine maintenance, and motorized road vehicles are excluded.
Key Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for an application through your local council team, your business must meet the following baseline requirements:
- Trading History: Actively trading for at least 3 months within your local council area.
- Mentoring: Be currently receiving (or have previously received) support through Go Succeed. You must have completed at least 60% of your required mentoring prior to applying.
- Business Size: Employ between 1 and 49 full-time equivalent (FTE) staff (including business owners).
- Prior Funding: Have not previously received a Go Succeed grant award.
Important Application Details
Grants are awarded competitively, paid retrospectively, and require match funding. You must not purchase equipment or start work until you receive a formal Letter of Offer.
